Cellulite happens closer to the skin surface than 'regular' fat, which is denser around bones and muscle. So if you have a lot of other fat, it might push it out further thus increasing the appearance though not necessarily being more. Even if you lost all that fat, it would still be there.

Because diet and exercise can be a small factor in minimizing the appearance of cellulite? Rather than the correlation you made of cellulite appearance being strictly genetic?
