I'm actually pretty disappointed at how easy it is for me to pick a favourite. Fantasies easily has my choice, the rest of these albums (The ones I heard anyway) didn't do too much for me, especially The Stills. I was really disappointed with their new album :(

Well, I love The Stills' new record. I think it is great and totally deserves the Polaris nod.

This is going to take some time...

Don't worry Leah, I actually had a really hard time deciding between Joel Plaskett and Wolf Parade, but I like Joel's record better.

I think I've listened to one of the bands on the long list. (I wonder which one.........)

Someone break it down for me: who is most likely to win this thing?

I tried to vote and then I realized I don't live in Canada, which makes it hard for me to choose an option for Province. That's dumb that they ask for country after that. Won't they all obviously be Canada? >_<

Well as much as I hate to say it, I don't think Metric is going to get it. The Polaris Music Prize tends to give the award to the most obscure band possible, though they might stick Metric or K-OS or The Stills on the shortlist just so they don't look totally biased.

My guess is that it will go to one of the French bands, or Wolf Parade, or Beast.

CHAAAAAAAAAAAAD! :D
Chad VanGaalen!!
He builds his own instruments, frigging awesome.

Also, Metric (obviously) and Land of Talk. Perhaps Hey Rosetta! and Wolf Parade if I'm in a good mood. :P

I shan't allow it! I will hunt down each and every member of the jury and force them to promise not to vote for him!

I respect the fact that he builds his own instruments, but I found his music (or at least what is on his MySpace page) intolerable.

It's very very odd. VERY odd. But I like certain songs. My favourite would probably be either Traffic or Liquid + Light.

If Metric were to make the shortlist, which song from Fantasies do people think should be mixed in with the rest on the inevitable compilation album?
