So, in one of the most jolting moments I have experienced lately, it turns out that Metric played an unadvertised gig in the Maritimes.
Here's the review I read last night. It seems the concert, unadvertised in my market, was on a recent Monday night in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

I am totally underwhelmed. No advance notice, anywhere.
No follow up tweets from Metric afterward.
Oh well, from the review, it seemed a diappointing appearance anyway. bah.

Wow. That headline sort of sums up exactly how I feel about Metric for the last year.

I'm not sure I would call Metric "musically flawless", but I get the "cold and distant" part.
