Nice to see Metric get recognition. Still don't think they get nearly as much as they deserve. I think they're better than the bands listed 1 through 5. For some reason people seem reluctant to say Metric is the best band ever!

I'm as happy as anybody here to see them on that list, but the word "indie" makes this article a breeding ground for this:

"WTF METRIC IS NOT INDIE THEY ON THE RADIO!!!11!!!1!"

FWIW, DISNEY used to be an "indie" film company.

After the theme park they needed cash flow and created partnerships and went public on the stock market....etc.

I think of Metric as indie. Small label, limited number of Cds in the catalog, self-financed. Not main stream.

I think of indie as a genre too, but I know lotssssss of people who disagree with that. So I just avoid the subject altogether.
