Totally nerding out here...

I wondered what show the photo came from and cannot get a conclusive answer. It's from 2008, but nearly every show had a different dress, those purple boots, sandals in latin america or was in daylight. The guard and some hands looks latin, so that's my guess....

I have only seen her wear converse on 2 occasions: Coachella and the gig in the photo.

Could be the right show and a wristband can be seen.

The ad photo could very well been from this performance - but I cannot find any photo/video of footwear from this show. I think every other 2008 show can be ruled out.

I totally don't mind Emily making as much money as she can. People who call them sell-outs and are serious about it probably don't have a mortgage to pay for. Most musical careers don't last a life time so you need to take advantage of it.

I was just at Rock Tattoo Parlour...a club on Queen St. and the musician Edwin is a bartender there now. Unfortunately, a music career isn't exactly a secure thing and so, if you can profit from it then do so....as long as you don't compromise the quality of the music then go ahead.

I have no issue with anyone being paid to promote things, but I would prefer that they use their influence for ethical products instead of companies who use child labour like Nike. That is selling out to me.
