Right now social networks are very scattered across the internet. I think what they're trying to achieve is correct, but whether they execute it properly is another story.
Initially, their biggest challenge is probably breaking people's habit of going to "twitter.com" or wherever to see content vs. going to the "Community" page they setup.
Frankly, this forum feels like far more of a "Community". On here you can have discussions and what not. The "Community" page just has a lot of random comments from fans and Metric's twitter posts. I guess the later is interesting, but usually random fan comments are not. I mean, go to a myspace page and read what they have to say...
This forum should be upgraded to the latest version of phpBB...I don't even think phpBB2 is even supported anymore. Would it be too much trouble to upgrade to 3.x? Other than that, it could use some snazzing up, but I've always liked it's quaintness.
