I do find it odd that brooklyn audio is still missing. There's tons of photos and fans knew in advance it'd would be an evening of exclusive material. Plus the whole "album" was performed twice in order. Metric tape collectors appear to be very segregated and only in certain areas with many shows privately tucked away. Remember that nobody on this forum admitted to attending the NYC shows.

I am glad that my angst over the lack of material from these shows is mutual. The few songs that have made there way to youtube are incredibly impressive, though I would have preferred if these videos showed some more variety in what was recorded.

A comment on one of the youtube videos suggests that the venue recorded the show. I hope I am not bringing up a moot point, but what could that possibly suggest?

Don't you feel like slapping the person that only uploads "Live It Out"?

Metric did admit to taping the shows from Spring 2007 club tour for playback and review(some new songs they didn't like). That's the only time I've seen any indication that they've ever taped their own gigs. Never seen audience mics at the soundboard of any of the Metric performances I've attended. More likely than not they get a copy of any Jumbotron video feed when doing festivals.

Well Standing In Line wasn't my favourite song going by the Myspace session... It would still be a shame to see it go though. I love Joyride, I really hope they do include it. Or at least if they don't include all these songs on the album, they bring the other songs out as b-sides at least.

And as for Give Me Sympathy/The Hooks I'd rather they included both - one as a reprise

And if they are ditching Up In Flames I wish I had a better recording of them playing it live than the crappy webcast audio.

Metric do have some options for bsides/comps/itunes/UK album bonus/myspace exclusive/vinyl only tracks with all the extra cuts.

I have a really good UIF from Calgary 2007 that has a bit of a doo-wop vocal background. Different that VFest Vancouver . I haven't shared it because of technical reasons relating to video formats. It is EXTREMELY annoying that the VFest webcast never surfaced on pro-shot video - ditto the Toronto VFest pro-shot video webcast. Both clips are out there but I haven't tracked them down yet.

Hooked on the first listening eh?

Very 80's like don't you think?
- analog bass pad
- looping background industrial sound that
would belong on a Emulator I floppy disk
- lots of compression on the drums
- guitar consisting of 3 notes played over and over.

I don't like the "lighter" chorus bit as much other than it provides contrast.

80s music is shit. Metric is nothing like that.

Well I don't think it sounds 80s really to me... obviously she uses a pro-one which is a synthesizer from the 80s so I'd get that, but Emily uses it on a lot of Metric songs so I don't see why this one would be more 80s than any other song of theirs.

I'm not that into the version of Help I'm Alive that was posted on youtube.
I think its because i expected the beat to drop out after the first line, like they did in the video on the site.
But then again, its just a radio edit.
I hope it grows on me.
